Cui Kai: Reverence for nature and culture is the soul of architecture. Academician Cui Kai excels in expressing culture through architectural language, emphasizing the connection between architecture, nature, and culture. The Oceanic Cultural Arts Center in Zhoushan marks another collaborative project between Cui Kai and dasso, following previous projects like the NanXun Urban Planning Exhibition Center, Kunshan Garden in the 12th China (Nanning) International Garden Expo, and HWA Fashion Group. The art center's design draws inspiration from the scene of waves crashing on the reef. The contrast between stone and glass is cleverly used to depict the balance of softness and rigidity, vividly summarizing the profound essence of marine culture. The building is simple and elegant, with a clear layout of functional areas, which are both independent and interconnected.
